Connection Trail is a strong peer driven community and is NOT a medical or clinical based facility. We are a community of peers in recovery working together to create a network of supportive individuals who can explore common interests together. Therefore we ask that mutual respect, expected boundaries and maintaining the integrity of our social center is of utmost importance and understood by all members. If a member refuses to follow the rules, or is unwilling to participate in activities the way they are planned, Connection Trail has the right to ask the member to vacate the facilities. Connection Trail assumes no responsibility for monitoring, transport or any type of arrangements for members should occurrences arise.
DONATIONS
As a member of Connection Trail, we welcome any donations to our facility through financial resources or time with your talents. We would really appreciate any type of donation as it takes a lot of different resources to keep our doors open. Please arrange with the manager on duty should you like to contribute to our facility.
PROPERTY
Connection Trail will not be held responsible for any member’s personal property in our facility if you are on premise or not.
VIOLENCE OR THREAT OF VIOLENCE
The safety of all is of paramount importance in our facility. Should any sort of violence occur, authorities will be contacted to take appropriate legal action and to assist in restoring a safe and secure environment. Authorities will be summoned whenever necessary to ensure the protection and safety of all members and staff. In addition, there will be zero tolerance for profanity, yelling and aggressive confrontation to members and staff.
WEAPONS
For the safety and security of all concerned, NO firearms, obvious weapons or other items deemed hazardous by staff will be allowed anywhere on the premises. Any item, in the opinion of a staff member, to be considered a current or potential threat will be removed immediately from the member and facility.
ILLICIT DRUGS AND ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
Under no circumstances will illicit drugs or alcohol be permitted on the premises at any time. Members with any sort of contraband will be removed immediately from the facility.
TOBACCO USE
In accordance with state rules and regulations, smoking is not permitted anywhere within the facility at any time and will only be allowed in designated areas. This includes all vaping and tobacco products.
CONTRABAND
The following are considered contraband and may not be in the possession of any member while on the premise: 1) Alcohol, drugs, illegal or legal, and any other over the counter drugs/medications 2) Weapons of any kind (knives, tools, scissors, guns, and any other the staff deems as potentially dangerous) 3) Pornographic or sexually explicit material
CELL PHONES
To protect the privacy of all members, no photos will be permitted within our facility.
SEXUAL/ROMANTIC INTIMACY
Sexual and/or romantic relationships between member or members and volunteers is highly discouraged as it can create disruption with the process of change and stability in recovery. Should any behavior of this sort be discovered by staff, the member will be directed to cease the behavior immediately or be removed from the premises.
DRESS, CLOTHING AND HYGIENE
Members are expected to maintain personal hygiene and should wear clothing that fits appropriately, provides full coverage and is weather appropriate. Clothing that depicts, glorifies or advertises drugs, alcohol or sexually explicit material is prohibited.
EXPECTATIONS
The following guidelines are meant to further ensure an environment that is healthy, safe, secure and conducive to all members.
STAFF DIRECTION
All staff are obligated to ensure a safe, secure and smooth operation of our facility. It is necessary that all members will comply with directions given by the staff in a respectful manner and with mutual respect.
BUILDING SECURITY
We respect the other tenants of our building and environment in which our offices reside and we ask you to be cognizant of the shared space, our building hours and the rules. The courtyard area will be available for use during daylight hours only.
PARTICIPATION Members are encouraged to actively participate in the committed activities. This is to build a community foundation for all our members as well as staff.
PEER SUPPORT SESSION:
1) Member must be on time for the session
2) Members must keep the names of all participants confidential
3) Members must refrain from using sexist, homophobic, racist or profane language
4) Food, gum, tobacco products and vaping are not permitted during the session, with the exception of water
5) Sleeping is not permitted during activities
MEDICAL CONSULTATION
If a member is in need of medical consultation, a case manager will provide referral resources and help the member navigate the system. Our goal is to connect you with medical and therapeutic services that are compatible with your insurance provider.
FIRE, SAFETY AND EMERGENCY MEASURES
Please note that an alarm to evacuate the building may happen at any time. Evacuating the building: All members will evacuate through the main entrance as quickly as possible. Do not attempt to take any personal belongings with you Once you have exited, go to the corner of First and Main Street Do not leave this area and stay with your group members To ensure your safety, remain outside until an “All Clear” sign is given. It is very important to listen to the instructions given You will be expected to participate in all routine drills with Connection Trail
